The MMCS is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which has been operating for 30 years in Mauritius, focusing on the education about and conservation of the marine environment in Mauritius.

The MMCS is actively working to raise the awareness amongst the people of Mauritius of the rich marine resources, the core objective being the protection of marine mammals and coral reefs.
